I am sure there are sooo many people who are still feeling full from the feasting season…ahem….I mean festive season. I am one of them!!! My goodness so full. But what a day! It’s taken me till now to really actually recover. I felt pretty well exhausted!
But, I LOVE having two families who are so intent on having a day all together – it’s so lovely. Love both my families, hubby’s family with his 3 brothers (1 who lives overseas) and their wives and 3 kids and his mum and then my family with my 3 sisters, their husbands, my mum and the 5 kids.
So much family, so much happiness!!!
As much as I’d love to share my over 200 photos of Christmas with you I won’t 🙂 (phew you say haha). But it was a great 2 days with 2 Christmas’s! What a wonderful time of the year!!
Each year we alternate Christmas Day, so this year was with my husbands family and then my family on Boxing Day.Our Christmas Day started off with Church service at 9am then headed to my husbands mums place for Christmas lunch. As it is every year at Christmas, my husband and his family serve up their traditional Russian feast of Lamb Shashlik, Potato Salad and Funchoza. No one complains because it’s all simply delicious!!!!
A game of white elephant, dessert later, praising the birth of Jesus and lots of play time with the kids and Christmas Day 2013 was complete!
Christmas the second was with my mum at my her house at the Sunshine Coast and all 3 sisters, husbands and 5 nieces and nephews were in attendance. So much great noise its pretty full on and has taken my husband a few years to adjust to just how much noise 5 women can make!!!Relaxing day of roast lamb on the spit, smoked sweet ham on the bone (first time I’d made it was great), roast potatoes, salads, corn the list just went on!
Cannot wait for the New Year though but first I will be doing my 2013 year in review link up with Silver Lining tomorrow (what a year!) and can’t wait to start 2014 where I have some lovely simple goals in mind!!!
